Overview

Se7en pairs two very different homicide detectives in a rain-soaked, unnamed city: the weary, bookish Somerset, days from retirement, and the hot-headed young Mills, eager to prove himself. When a series of elaborately staged murders begins, each victim appears to embody one of the seven deadly sins, and the detectives realize they are hunting a killer who is building a sermon out of murder. Directed by David Fincher and led by Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Kevin Spacey, the film is less a whodunit than a descent into a city that feels rotten to its core.
