Dragon Ball Super: Broly (2018)
2018 • TMDB 8.0 • 1h 41m • Action, Science Fiction, Animation
Overview
Set after the Tournament of Power, Dragon Ball Super: Broly brings the franchise’s most feared Saiyan into official canon for the first time. Earth is at peace, and Goku and Vegeta are training harder than ever, when a mysterious warrior named Broly arrives — a Saiyan who was supposed to have died with Planet Vegeta. Exiled as an infant and raised on a harsh, desolate world by his father Paragus, Broly has grown into a fighter of terrifying, untamed power. When Frieza returns and seizes on Broly as a weapon against his old enemies, the stage is set for a collision between three Saiyans raised in completely different worlds. Written by series creator Akira Toriyama, the film reframes Broly as a sympathetic figure rather than a simple villain, while delivering some of the most spectacular, high-energy battles in Dragon Ball history — a dazzling mix of hand-drawn action, shifting art styles, and planet-shaking spectacle.

Why Watch Dragon Ball Super: Broly?
Dragon Ball Super: Broly is the rare franchise film that works for newcomers and lifelong fans alike. Its opening act retells the fall of Planet Vegeta with real emotion, giving Broly a tragic backstory that makes his rampages hit harder. Then the action takes over: the extended battle between Goku, Vegeta, and Broly is a masterclass in animated combat, escalating from fists to energy blasts to reality-bending transformations with breathtaking confidence. Add Frieza’s scheming, a Gogeta fusion, and Toriyama’s playful humor, and you get the most purely entertaining Dragon Ball movie ever made.
