Overview

Shunned by his village for the powerful Nine-Tailed Fox sealed inside him, young Naruto Uzumaki refuses to be defined by other people’s fear. Loud, stubborn and endlessly optimistic, he dreams of becoming Hokage — the strongest ninja and leader of the Hidden Leaf Village — so that everyone will finally acknowledge him. Alongside brooding rival Sasuke Uchiha and determined Sakura Haruno, under the guidance of the enigmatic Kakashi Hatake, Naruto grows from prankster to capable shinobi through missions, exams and battles that test far more than technique. The series shines in its huge, memorable cast and its belief that hard work and loyalty can rival any born talent, while darker threads — loss, revenge and the cost of war — give the story real weight. Funny, heartfelt and packed with iconic fights, Naruto is the long-running adventure that turned a whole generation onto anime, and it remains the essential starting point for the saga that continues in Shippuden.
