Heated Rivalry

2025 • TMDB 8.7 • 1 season • Drama, Romance

Overview

On the ice, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov are two of the biggest stars in professional hockey, rivals whose clashes fuel highlight reels and divide fanbases. Off the ice, their story takes a very different shape. Heated Rivalry follows the two players over eight years, from fresh-faced rookies to established stars, as ambition, competition and a growing connection pull them in opposite directions. It is a sports drama first: the pressure of the locker room, the weight of a contract year, the roar of a crowd that expects perfection every night.

What sets the series apart is how patiently it tracks its characters. Seasons of wins and losses, trades and injuries, and the scrutiny that comes with fame all shape the relationship at the center of the show. Adapted from a popular novel, the series keeps its focus on character and career: two men trying to protect the sport they love while deciding whether there is room in their fiercely competitive world for something more personal. The result is a confident, crowd-pleasing drama that works just as well for viewers who come for the hockey as for those who come for the romance.

Creator and Main Cast

Heated Rivalry was created by Jacob Tierney. Hudson Williams stars as Shane Hollander and Connor Storrie as Ilya Rozanov, alongside François Arnaud as Scott Hunter, Callan Potter as Hayden Pike and Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova as Svetlana Vetrova.

Seasons Snapshot

• Season 1 (2025) — 6 episodes. Premiered November 28, 2025, concluding with the finale “The Cottage” on December 26, 2025. The series is a returning series, with further seasons to come.

Why Watch Heated Rivalry

Heated Rivalry succeeds because it takes both halves of its premise seriously. The hockey feels authentic — fast, physical and high-stakes — and the character drama earns its emotional payoffs across an eight-year arc rather than rushing them. Williams and Storrie carry the show with an easy, believable chemistry, and the supporting cast gives the locker room and front office real texture. At only six episodes, the first season is a quick, polished watch that leaves plenty of room for the story to grow.
