Overview
When Rachel Green walks into Central Perk in a wedding dress, she is not just crashing her old friend Monica Geller’s life — she is walking into the living room where six twenty-somethings will spend the next ten years figuring out adulthood together. Friends, created by Marta Kauffman and David Crane, follows Rachel, Monica, Ross, Chandler, Joey and Phoebe through the jobs, breakups, weddings, babies and Thanksgiving disasters that defined a generation of television. Set mostly in two apartments across the hall and the coffeehouse below, the show turns ordinary problems — a bad date, a lost job, a will-they-won’t-they romance — into endlessly quotable comedy, anchored by a cast whose chemistry made the group feel like a real family. Ross and Rachel’s on-again, off-again love story became the template for sitcom romance, while Chandler’s jokes, Joey’s acting dreams and Phoebe’s songs gave every character a signature. A decade after its finale, Friends remains the ultimate comfort watch: funny, warm and always there for you.
