Overview
In the early 2000s, as tensions simmer between India and Pakistan, a young Indian operative is sent deep undercover into Karachi’s criminal underworld. Taking on the identity of Hamza Ali Mazari, he must earn the trust of gangsters, politicians, and spies alike — men who would kill him in an instant if they learned who he really is. Dhurandhar is a sprawling, muscular spy epic from director Aditya Dhar, built on patience and menace rather than quick thrills: long stretches of quiet infiltration give way to bursts of brutal violence, all anchored by Ranveer Singh’s committed, shape-shifting performance. Around him, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt bring weight to a world of double-crosses and hidden loyalties. At three and a half hours, it is an unapologetically big, old-school blockbuster — a story of a man who risks everything, and becomes someone else entirely, for his country.
Why Watch Dhurandhar?
Because it is Indian blockbuster filmmaking at full stretch: a slow-burn spy saga with a magnetic central performance, a gallery of formidable villains, and action that lands hard because the stakes have been earned. If you like your thrillers patient, muscular, and operatic, this one delivers on a grand scale.
