Overview
Morgan Grant became a mother young, and her life has been shaped ever since by the choices she made for her daughter Clara. When a devastating car crash takes the lives of Morgan’s husband Chris and Clara’s aunt Jenny, grief is only the beginning: the accident exposes a betrayal that rewrites everything Morgan thought she knew about her marriage. As mother and daughter try to hold their family together, Clara falls for Miller Adams, a boy with his own complicated history, while Morgan finds an unexpected confidant in Jonah Sullivan, Chris’s best friend. Based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, Regretting You moves between Morgan’s and Clara’s perspectives, showing how the same loss can pull two people apart and, slowly, bring them back to one another. It is a story about first love and second chances, about the secrets families keep, and about learning to forgive — others, and yourself.
Why Watch Regretting You?
Because it gives the mother-daughter story equal weight. Most book-to-screen romances pick one point of view; here, Morgan’s grief and Clara’s first love unfold side by side, and each one changes how you see the other. Allison Williams and Mckenna Grace make that double perspective sing, and the film earns its tears without ever feeling manipulative.
