Where to watch strong girl bong soon? In the US, Strong Girl Bong-soon streams on Rakuten Viki, with 1 season and 16 episodes, and it is the classic 2017 K-drama that fans still return to.
The Short Answer: Rakuten Viki
The streaming answer is Rakuten Viki: the title page lists Strong Girl Bong-soon on Rakuten Viki with 1 season, so US viewers should start there.
For the full background, see our complete Strong Girl Bong-soon title page.
The series ran in 2017, and it remains a fan favorite, because its mix of comedy, romance and action has aged well, and its heroine is still one of K-drama’s most loved leads.
1 Season and 16 Episodes
With 1 season and 16 episodes, Strong Girl Bong-soon is a complete story, because it follows Do Bong-soon, played by Park Bo-young, a young woman born with superhuman strength, who dreams of a normal life and a normal job.
The series also stars Park Hyung-sik as Ahn Min-hyuk, the young CEO who hires Bong-soon as his bodyguard, and their partnership drives both the comedy and the romance.
Bong-soon’s strength is the hook, because she can lift cars and stop criminals with her bare hands, but the story is really about what she does with that power, and who she chooses to protect.
That choice matters, because Bong-soon comes from a family where the women inherit this strength, and she has to learn when to use it, when to hide it, and when to trust the people around her with the truth.
Why Bong-Soon Still Works
Strong Girl Bong-soon still works because it never takes itself too seriously, because it pairs slapstick comedy with genuine stakes, and because Bong-soon herself is funny, kind and stubborn in equal measure.
The romance works because it grows out of respect, because Min-hyuk sees Bong-soon’s strength as a gift, not a problem, and because their banter carries the series through its slower stretches.
The action works because Bong-soon’s strength is used creatively, because the show finds new ways to make her power funny and heroic, and because the villain’s threat keeps the story moving.
The comedy works because it comes from character, because Bong-soon’s attempts to seem ordinary keep backfiring, and because the people around her, from her family to her coworkers, add their own chaos to every episode.
The Spin-Off Question
Viewers often ask about the spin-off, because Strong Girl Bong-soon has a follow-up series, but the spin-off itself is not on this title page, so this article does not assert its streaming service.
If you want the spin-off, check its own title page and its own listings, because that is where its streaming home will be listed, and guessing it here would mislead readers.
Start with the original first, because its 16 episodes stand on their own, and because the spin-off is best enjoyed after you know Bong-soon.
Watch Tips
On Rakuten Viki, check the subtitle options before you start, because Viki is built for international K-drama fans, and its subtitle community is part of what makes it popular.
Watch in order, because the romance, the mystery and Bong-soon’s growth all build across the 16 episodes, and the finale pays off threads from the very first episode.
This is also a strong rewatch, because the jokes land differently once you know the characters, and because Bong-soon’s best moments, from her first displays of strength to her quietest acts of kindness, reward a second look.
