Overview

Set in 1930s Mississippi, Sinners follows twin brothers Smoke and Stack — both played by Michael B. Jordan — who return to their hometown after years away, hoping to leave their troubled pasts behind and open a juke joint for their community. But their homecoming celebration takes a terrifying turn when a supernatural evil descends on the town, drawn by the power of the blues. As the night unfolds, music becomes both a weapon and a temptation: the twins, young blues prodigy Sammie, and their friends must fight for their souls against a charming, ancient vampire who promises freedom at a terrible price. Director Ryan Coogler blends Southern Gothic atmosphere, blistering musical sequences, and full-blooded horror into something entirely its own — a film about Black history, faith, art, and survival that is as thrilling as it is haunting. Sinners is a bold, bloody, and deeply soulful original that lingers long after the credits.

Why Watch Sinners?

Sinners is one of the most original horror films of the decade. Michael B. Jordan delivers a career-best dual performance, the blues soundtrack is electrifying, and Ryan Coogler directs with total confidence, turning a vampire story into a rich meditation on music, community, and freedom. The juke joint sequence alone is worth the price of admission, and the film’s final act is genuinely terrifying. Whether you love horror, music, or just great filmmaking, Sinners is essential viewing.
