Project Hail Mary (2026)
2026 • TMDB 8.6 • 2h 37m • Science Fiction, Adventure
Overview
Some missions do not begin with a launch countdown. They begin with a man waking up alone, far from home, with no idea how he got there. Project Hail Mary follows Ryland Grace, a former science teacher played by Ryan Gosling, who wakes aboard a spacecraft light-years from Earth to discover that he is humanity’s last, unlikely hope. The Sun is dying, threatened by a mysterious substance, and Grace must piece together his lost memories, his mission, and the science that might save a planet he may never see again. What follows is not just a space adventure, but a story of problem-solving under impossible pressure, built on curiosity, humor, and an unexpected friendship that crosses species. Directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller balance spectacle with warmth, letting Gosling’s wit and vulnerability carry a film that is as much about learning to trust a stranger as it is about saving Earth. It is big, bright, and deeply human.

Watch Project Hail Mary for the rare blockbuster that makes science feel like a superpower. Gosling is superb as an ordinary teacher forced into an extraordinary role, and his chemistry with Rocky gives the film a heart that sneaks up on you. Lord and Miller keep the story playful without ever making the stakes feel small, turning classrooms, laboratories and alien encounters into a celebration of curiosity.
