Overview
How to Train Your Dragon follows Hiccup, the scrawny son of Berk’s Viking chief, in a village where killing dragons is the measure of a warrior. When Hiccup downs a feared Night Fury with a homemade bola launcher, he cannot bring himself to finish the job. Instead he names the dragon Toothless, and in secret he builds a prosthetic tail fin that lets the injured creature fly again, with Hiccup riding along. As dragon training begins, Hiccup’s strange new skills make him the pride of Berk, even as he hides a growing friendship that defies everything his father believes. The truth comes out when the Vikings follow a captured dragon to the nest of the monstrous Red Death, and Hiccup must prove that understanding a dragon is braver than slaying one.

Why Watch How to Train Your Dragon?
How to Train Your Dragon soars because it pairs spectacular flying sequences with a genuinely moving friendship at its center. The first flight scenes, set to John Powell’s soaring score, remain some of the most thrilling moments in animation, and the bond between Hiccup and Toothless, built without a single shared word, is pure storytelling. Beneath the spectacle sits a warm message about questioning inherited prejudice and finding courage on your own terms. It earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature and launched one of DreamWorks’ most beloved franchises.
