Overview

Denji is broke, starving and drowning in the debt his dead father left behind, so he hunts devils for the yakuza with his chainsaw-headed pet devil, Pochita. When a betrayal leaves him for dead, Pochita merges with him — and Denji is reborn as Chainsaw Man, a devil-human hybrid with chainsaws for a head and arms. Recruited by the mysterious Makima into Tokyo’s Public Safety Devil Hunters, Denji fights alongside the straight-laced Aki and the chaotic, blood-obsessed Power, chasing a life that is almost embarrassingly simple: good food, a warm bed and someone to care about. What follows is twelve episodes of gloriously unhinged action — bloody, absurd and frequently hilarious — that keep revealing a surprisingly tender story about a boy who has never had anything and finally wants everything. MAPPA’s animation is jaw-dropping, and the ending leaves you desperate for more.
