Where to Watch

In the US, Bula (2022) streams on the Film Movement Plus Amazon Channel and the Pinoy Box Office Amazon Channel, and is available to rent for $1.99 and to buy for $7.99 on Amazon Video, according to JustWatch US.

Overview

Bula follows Meldie, a young woman working in a laundry shop whose private fantasies begin to shape the way she sees the people around her. Her ordinary routine changes when she meets Jacob, a police officer, and her interest in him grows into a fixation that she pursues without regard for the consequences. Director Bobby Bonifacio sets the story in the close, steamy world of washers, folded clothes, and late shifts, where everyday work becomes the backdrop for a slow-building psychological thriller. As Meldie crosses lines that cannot be undone, the film moves from quiet obsession toward confrontation, asking how far desire can distort judgment when it is left unchecked. Ayanna Misola leads the cast as Meldie, with Gab Lagman as Jacob, Robb Guinto as Celine, Ana Abad Santos as Gloria, and Mon Confiado as Manuel. Bula is a tense, adult-themed Filipino thriller about fixation, power, and the danger of mistaking control for closeness.

Why Watch Bula?

Bula is worth watching for viewers who like psychological thrillers built on atmosphere rather than action. Its laundry-shop setting gives an everyday workplace an unsettling edge, and Ayanna Misola anchors the film as a lead whose calm surface hides a growing obsession. The story stays focused on its central characters, letting tension build through choices and confrontations instead of spectacle. If you are interested in Filipino genre cinema and in thrillers about fixation and its consequences, Bula offers a compact, mood-driven watch with a distinctive setting.
