The Witcher

2019 • TMDB 7.9 • 4 seasons • 32 episodes • Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Action & Adventure • Netflix

Overview

Geralt of Rivia is a monster hunter for hire — mutated, cynical and handy with a sword — but The Witcher is far more than a creature feature. On a Continent torn by war and magic, Geralt’s path keeps crossing two others: Yennefer, a sorceress who paid a terrible price for power, and Ciri, a young princess carrying a destiny that empires would kill to control. Adapted from Andrzej Sapkowski’s beloved books, the series mixes brutal swordplay, dark magic and dry humor with a story about found family. The first season’s tangled timelines confused some viewers, but the reward is a rich fantasy world where monsters are often the least dangerous thing in it. Sword fights, sorcery and a bard who will not stop singing — what more could you want?
