The Umbrella Academy

Overview

On one extraordinary day in 1989, forty-three infants were born to women who had shown no signs of pregnancy. Eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves adopted seven of them and raised them as a superhero team — the Umbrella Academy. Years later, the siblings are estranged, damaged and spectacularly dysfunctional, and only their father’s death brings them back under the same roof. But the reunion is anything but peaceful: a looming apocalypse, a time-travelling assassin brother and a lifetime of buried resentments collide as the Hargreeves try to stop the end of the world — usually while making it worse. Based on Gerard Way’s comic, the show mixes jaw-dropping action with dark humour, needle-drop musical numbers and a family drama that hits harder than any superpower. Every season rewrites the timeline, and every twist makes the siblings’ bond messier and more moving.
