Finding Nemo (2003)

Overview
When a scuba diver scoops young clownfish Nemo from his Great Barrier Reef home and carries him to a dentist’s office aquarium in Sydney, his overprotective father Marlin faces his worst fear: the open ocean. Teaming up with Dory, a cheerful blue tang with almost no short-term memory, Marlin embarks on a journey across the sea, braving vegetarian sharks, a swarm of hypnotic jellyfish, a laid-back turtle named Crush, and hungry seagulls, while Nemo plots his own escape with the Tank Gang. Andrew Stanton’s Pixar classic pairs breathtaking underwater animation with a story about letting go — Marlin must learn that protecting his son means trusting him to face the world. Funny, heartfelt, and endlessly quotable, Finding Nemo remains one of the studio’s most beloved adventures, a film that turned “just keep swimming” into a motto for audiences of every age.

Why Watch Finding Nemo?
Finding Nemo won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature for good reason: its ocean is rendered with astonishing beauty, its jokes land for children and adults alike, and its emotional core — a father’s anxiety and a son’s need for independence — feels universal. Ellen DeGeneres steals every scene as Dory, and the film’s parade of unforgettable characters, from Crush to Bruce the shark, makes it endlessly rewatchable.
