Overview
Natsuko Hirose is a genius animator whose debut film becomes a social phenomenon, but success brings a problem she never expected: her next project is a romantic comedy about first love, and Natsuko has never been in love herself. Unable to draw a storyboard she does not understand, she works herself to exhaustion — and passes out at her desk. When she wakes, she is inside the world of her favorite childhood anime film, “A Tale of Perishing,” a fantasy of heroes, monsters, and a doomed ending she knows by heart. Armed with a pencil that can bring her drawings to life, Natsuko joins the film’s heroes, including the brave Luke Braveheart, and sets out to change a story that was always meant to end in tragedy. Along the way, she begins to learn what first love actually feels like.

Zenshu is worth watching because it is a love letter to animation itself: a story about the people who make anime, told by one of the best studios in the business, with dazzling action, a heartfelt heroine, and a clever twist on the isekai formula. Natsuko’s struggle to understand love while literally redrawing a story’s fate is both funny and moving, and the show’s gorgeous fantasy world makes every episode a visual treat. If you have ever wondered what goes into the anime you love — or wished you could step inside a favorite film — this one is for you.
