Overview
Best friends and roommates Dreux and Alyssa are having one of those days — the kind where everything that can go wrong already has. When they discover that Alyssa’s boyfriend has blown their rent money, the clock starts ticking: come up with the cash by the end of the day, or face eviction. What follows is a frantic, funny race across Los Angeles as the pair hustle, scheme, and scramble their way through a series of escalating disasters, from a disastrous shoe sale to a confrontation with a local loan shark. Produced by Issa Rae and directed by Lawrence Lamont from a script by Syreeta Singleton, One of Them Days pairs Keke Palmer and SZA as a comedy duo with real chemistry: Dreux, the responsible one with big plans, and Alyssa, the free spirit whose chaos keeps pulling them both into trouble. Beneath the jokes, it’s a warm story about friendship under pressure — and about two young women refusing to let one bad day break them.
Why Watch One of Them Days?
Because Keke Palmer and SZA are a genuine comedy pairing: Palmer’s sharp timing plays perfectly against SZA’s laid-back charm, and their friendship feels real even at its most ridiculous. Add a scene-stealing Katt Williams, a string of wildly escalating set pieces, and a 94% Rotten Tomatoes score, and you have one of the most purely enjoyable comedies of 2025 — the kind of film that leaves you grinning long after the credits.
