Overview
Amate Yuzuriha is an ordinary high-school student living in Side 6, a quiet space colony drifting far above Earth, when a chance meeting with Nyaan, a refugee girl with secrets of her own, pulls her into a hidden world. Beneath the colony’s calm surface, teenagers pilot mobile suits in Clan Battle, an illegal dueling circuit where pride, money, and survival are all on the line. When Amate climbs into the cockpit of the mysterious Gundam GQuuuuuuX, she discovers a machine that seems to respond to something deep inside her, and she crosses paths with Shuji Itō, a quiet boy piloting a red Gundam of his own. Their fates become tangled in a conflict shaped by an alternate history of the One Year War, a past in which Zeon emerged victorious. Recut from the opening episodes of the GQuuuuuuX television series, the film pairs Kazuya Tsurumaki’s direction with a screenplay by Hideaki Anno, giving longtime fans a bold new timeline and newcomers a fast, self-contained way into the Gundam universe.

Why Watch Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-?
Few franchise films dare to rewrite their own history, and that gamble is exactly what makes -Beginning- so exciting. The alternate timeline lets familiar icons appear in unfamiliar roles, while Clan Battle gives the action a scrappy, street-level energy that feels fresh even for viewers who have never watched a Gundam series. Beneath the spectacle, the film is really about two teenagers finding purpose and connection in a colony that expects them to stay quiet. It works as a standalone thrill ride, and as a doorway into one of anime’s most ambitious new chapters.
