Overview
What should have been a routine final shift becomes a nightmare for two Mexican federal officers. After a traffic stop goes wrong, Carmona and Rosales find themselves holding the most wanted man in the country, and suddenly every faction in the cartel world wants him back. With backup hours away and danger closing in from all sides, the pair must survive a long, tense night of ambushes, betrayals and impossible choices. Inspired by the real-life capture of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, Facing El Chapo (original title La captura) is a lean, fast-paced crime thriller that turns one extraordinary night into a gripping test of courage, loyalty and nerve.

Why Watch Facing El Chapo?
At just 91 minutes, this is a thriller with no wasted motion: taut, grounded and relentlessly tense, with Alfonso Herrera anchoring the chaos as an officer in way over his head. The true-story hook makes every close call hit harder, and the film’s stripped-down, real-time feel puts you right in the car with its heroes. If you like crime stories where the stakes feel painfully real, this one delivers.
