Overview

In a ruined future, humanity survives inside the mobile fortress city Plantation, where children raised in the Birdcage are trained for one purpose: piloting the FRANXX, giant robots that fight the monstrous klaxosaurs. Each FRANXX needs a boy-girl pair, and Hiro — once a prodigy — has lost his ability to pilot, leaving him convinced he has no place left. Then he meets Zero Two, a mysterious girl with horns and a reputation as a ‘partner killer,’ who pulls him into her cockpit with the words, “I’ve found you, my Darling.” What follows is 24 episodes of mecha action and tangled teenage romance, as Hiro, Zero Two and their squadmates fight, fall in love, argue and grow up together. Beneath the battles, Darling in the FranXX is a coming-of-age story about finding someone who accepts you — and about children raised as weapons deciding what their lives are actually for.
