Where to Watch
Carrie streams on Prime Video in the US, per TMDB’s watch listing.
Overview
Carrie White is a teenager grieving the sudden death of her father when she is thrown into the unforgiving world of public high school. Bullied, watched and judged at every turn, she must navigate a viral scandal that tears through her community, the casual cruelty of the social-media age, and something stranger still: a telekinetic power that awakens alongside her adolescence. Mike Flanagan’s series reimagines Stephen King’s classic story for a new generation, stretching the familiar tragedy into eight episodes that give Carrie room to breathe, to make friends, to be angry, and to be dangerous. It is a story about grief and isolation, about a mother whose faith is a cage, and about what happens when a girl who has been pushed too far finally pushes back. Grounded, tense and deeply sad, this Carrie is less a jump-scare horror than a slow-burn portrait of a young woman finding her power.

Why Watch Carrie?
If you think you know Carrie, this series will surprise you. Flanagan slows the story down and lets it hurt, building real sympathy for a girl who has usually been reduced to an icon of revenge. Summer H. Howell’s performance carries the show, balancing fragility with a quiet, gathering force, and the supporting cast makes the school feel painfully real. The horror here is not just supernatural — it is the everyday cruelty of phones, rumors and adults who look away. At eight episodes it is a tight, bingeable season that respects King’s novel while making the story feel urgently modern. Watch it for the scares, stay for the heartbreak.
