Overview
Breaking Bad begins with a desperate choice and follows it to its darkest, most gripping conclusions. Walter White, a brilliant but overlooked chemistry teacher in Albuquerque, learns he has terminal cancer and decides to use his scientific talent to cook crystal meth, hoping to leave his family financially secure. What starts as a secret side venture soon pulls in his former student Jesse Pinkman, ruthless rivals, cartel figures, and the DEA, including Walt’s own brother-in-law. Across five seasons, the show charts Walt’s transformation with extraordinary patience and moral clarity, showing how each compromise makes the next one easier and each victory more costly. It is tense, often darkly funny, and built on performances that make even quiet scenes crackle. More than a crime saga, it is a study of pride, ambition, and self-deception, and it remains one of television’s great achievements for viewers who love character-driven drama.
