The Last of Us

2023 • TMDB 8.4 • 2 seasons • 16 episodes • Drama • HBO

Overview

Twenty years after a fungal outbreak destroyed modern civilization, hardened survivor Joel Miller is hired to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie out of a Boston quarantine zone — a job that becomes a brutal, cross-country journey neither of them will survive unchanged. Ellie may be humanity’s last hope: she is immune to the infection that turns people into terrifying Clickers. Based on Naughty Dog’s acclaimed video game, The Last of Us is less a zombie show than a story about grief, love and the terrible choices people make to protect one another. From the ruins of Boston to the mountains of Wyoming, Joel and Ellie’s bond deepens through encounters with survivors, raiders and infected horrors alike, while season two leaps five years ahead to a Jackson community where the past refuses to stay buried and revenge threatens everything they built.
