Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story

2022 • TMDB 8.0 • 1 season • Crime, Drama

Overview

Between 1978 and 1991, Jeffrey Dahmer murdered 17 young men and boys in Milwaukee, often in plain sight of a system that failed to stop him. This limited series from Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan refuses to treat him as a monster out of nowhere: it traces his troubled childhood, his parents’ fractured marriage, and the neighbors, police, and institutions that missed chance after chance to intervene. Told largely from the perspective of his victims and the people around them — above all Glenda Cleveland, the neighbor who tried again and again to be heard — Dahmer is a harrowing, meticulously acted account of real horror. Evan Peters disappears into the title role, and the series never lets the audience look away from the cost of indifference.

Why Watch Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story?

Dahmer is difficult viewing, but it is essential true-crime drama because it centers the victims and the systemic failures rather than the killer’s legend. Evan Peters gives a chilling, controlled performance, and Niecy Nash-Betts is extraordinary as Glenda Cleveland, the neighbor whose warnings went unheeded. If you want a series that provokes real reflection about justice, race, and accountability — not just shock — this is one of the most powerful limited series Netflix has produced.
