Voltes V: Legacy

2023 • TMDB 7.2 • 1 season • Drama, Action & Adventure, Sci-Fi & Fantasy

Overview

Voltes V: Legacy brings the classic anime to live action with a new generation at its controls. When the humanoid Boazanians plan to invade Earth and launch their beast fighters across the world, three brothers — Steve, Big Bert, and Little Jon Armstrong — join friends Jamie Robinson and Mark Gordon to stand in their way. Trained as pilots, they must learn to work as one team, because only by volt-ing in together can their five machines form the giant robot Voltes V. Across 90 episodes, the series balances family drama with large-scale battles, as the Armstrong brothers confront questions about their father, their duty, and what it means to defend a home that is still learning to trust them. The Boazan threat grows more personal with every clash, led by Prince Zardoz, while the young team grows from recruits into heroes. It is a sweeping, effects-driven Filipino adaptation that honours the original while giving its new cast room to make the legend their own.

Why Watch Voltes V: Legacy?

Because it is the rare live-action remake that understands why the original lasted: the robot is the spectacle, but the family is the story. The battles are big and colourful, yet the moments that stay with you are the brothers arguing, forgiving, and choosing each other again. For longtime fans it is nostalgia with new scale; for newcomers it is a complete, self-contained adventure.
