Overview
One year after her sister Melanie mysteriously vanished, Clover gathers her friends and heads into the remote valley where Melanie disappeared, hoping for answers. Their search leads them to an abandoned visitor center, where a masked killer stalks them and murders them one by one — only for the group to wake up alive at the start of the very same evening. Trapped in a time loop, they must survive until dawn, but every night brings a different nightmare: new monsters, new traps, and new ways to die. Each death changes them, and the valley seems determined to keep them there forever. Director David F. Sandberg, adapting the hit PlayStation horror game, leans into the game’s branching-nightmare structure, giving his young cast a fresh slate of horrors with every reset. As Clover and her friends piece together what happened to Melanie — and to the valley itself — they learn that surviving the night is only half the battle; escaping it may cost far more.
Why Watch Until Dawn?
Because it turns the time-loop premise into a horror playground: every reset means a new monster, a new kill, and a new clue, so the scares never settle into a pattern. Sandberg directs with the same craft he brought to Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation, and the game adaptation keeps the spirit of the source — choices matter, and nobody is safe — without requiring any knowledge of it.
