Overview
American Primeval is a brutal, sweeping Western limited series from creator Mark L. Smith about the violent birth of the American West. In 1857 Utah, a mother and son fleeing their past join a wagon train bound for California — and find themselves caught between warring factions, unforgiving terrain, and the people who would prey on the vulnerable. Taylor Kitsch leads a formidable cast as Isaac Reed, a hardened guide whose protection comes at a price, while Betty Gilpin anchors the story as Sara Rowell, a woman determined to reach safety no matter the cost. Raw, unflinching, and beautifully shot, the series paints the frontier as both breathtaking and merciless, where every alliance is fragile and survival is never guaranteed. If you like Westerns with real grit and emotional weight, American Primeval is essential viewing.
