Overview
In 1960s Mississippi, a young Black FBI agent named Wayne Strider is handed a case that the Bureau cannot solve on its own: a wave of brutal murders aimed at civil rights activists. To get inside the violence, he is forced into an uneasy partnership with Gregory Scarpa, a notorious mafia hitman whose methods are as ruthless as the men they are hunting. Their alliance is built on distrust from the start, and every lead pulls them deeper into a landscape shaped by segregation, fear, and organized crime. As the investigation closes in on figures connected to the Ku Klux Klan, Strider must weigh justice against compromise, deciding how far he can go without losing the principles that brought him to the case. Inspired by a true story, the film turns a criminal investigation into a portrait of courage under pressure, where survival often depends on unlikely trust and the willingness to cross lines that cannot easily be uncrossed.
